Visitors can expect a warm welcome at this private member club on the edge of the Firth of Forth. The course, designed by Harry S Colt, is a unique combination of parkland and links and is at the start of East Lothian’s Golf Coast, just 18 miles from Edinburgh.
Longniddry is a hybrid course making it interesting and varied – there are large, raised greens, clean approaches, guarded par 3s and great views. Although not a long course, it is designed to reward the strategic player with 8 par 4s measuring over 400 yards for the Men and, for Ladies, the 5 longest holes are par 5s.
Formerly an Open qualifying course, Longniddry is regularly asked to host amateur competitions including The Scottish Open qualifiers, Lothian Golf Association Championships and The Babe Zaharias. In 2023, the club will host the Scottish Girls Open Championship.
The course has improved notably over the last 18 months thanks to a new greens team which has made incredible progress through innovative practice and excellent use of resources; feedback from members and visitors has been fantastic, with players in last year’s Golf in Scotland Tour saying the course and the greens were amazing.
